Question: I noticed a bump in my armpit 2 days ago... It was a little painful so I thought it was an ingrown hair. Today the bump is larger, but not painful, thoughts?
Well, maybe a little painful if I press on it.

Brief Answer:
Painful lump in axilla

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Painful lump in axilla is most commonly due to Hydradenitis affecting apocrine sweat gland +/-axillary lymphadenitis.
A course of antibiotic particularly dicloxacillin will help, as staphylococcus is the commonest organism.

Please consult your doctor and get yourself examined and get the prescription for the antibiotic.
