Brief Answer:
Recurrent BV likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Having treatment for vaginal discharge multiple times without being relieved of discharge is distressing. Bacterial vaginosis is usually associated with super added fungal infections and if not treated vigorously is notorious for recurrence. A common reason of recurrent infections is simultaneous improper treatment of the partner which keeps on reinfecting the female partner repeatedly.
A vaginal swab culture sensitivity will be helpful in determining the antibiotic which will be most suitable for your infection.
Following life style changes are helpful to prevent future recurrence of BV:
1) Take healthy diet with anti oxidant (like Vit-E/ C, selenium, zinc, lycopene etc) supplements. Drink plenty of water/ juice for better systemic circulation.
2) Do not touch/ wipe out genital area too much. Also avoid inserting objects or douching inside vagina.
3) Maintain genital hygiene with proper shaving & cleaning. Do regular physical exercise by means of jogging/ walking/ treadmill etc.
4) Wear only clean & cotton underwear. Don't wear any tight fitting cloths or pants to avoid repeated friction/ irritation.
5) Avoid using any type of chemical cosmetics or soap or condoms. Try to avoid any type of sexual activity for at least 3 months.
6) Avoid stress/ tension/ mental upset by regular deep breathing (20-30 times)/ yoga. Take a sound sleep for complete relaxation.

Ok should I ask for different treatment
The metro gel is working I'm just not being relieved of the vaginal itch and it's driving me nuts
Ran out of gel today started taking the pills
Every time I take the pills I get a yeast infection
Do you think the iud is causing the problem or is my body just changing
Before the iud I had both bv and a yeast infection
Is it just the sex that's causing these problems

Brief Answer:
Detailed investigations are needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
You need to change the antibiotic. Oral medication is necessary. IUD can be one of the reasons of recurrence. Do consult your gynecologist and get the detailed investigations done. Avoid having sex till it is completely cured. And ask your boyfriend also for complete treatment.
Hope my answer is helpful.
