Question: Hi, I have had shortness of breath for five years. Had lungs and heart checked all fine. been asthmatic all of my life. I take Ventolin and Symbacort but have no relief, some say Asthma and then others don't give me a answer. I am physically fit, any exhaustion I struggle with breathing. My breathing seems short spurts.

Brief Answer:
Changes in the treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking in HealthcareMagic.

I can understand your concern

The best thing is that you have already checked lungs and heart because sometimes they aggravate asthma if left untreated.

If you were my patient i would do some changes in your treatment based in your history that you are breathlessness continuously

I would recommend you to stop inhalers and to begin the aerosol therapy with steroids and Ventolin combined plus you can add oral steroids too.

This treatment is better to do for up to two weeks and than to return in the inhalers again according to your condition

You will feel better with the above

Please talk with your treating doctor and h/she will advice you further.

I wish you a fast recovery

Brief Answer:
Spiriva + Symbicort in high dose

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Or in your situation we can do a step up in your treatment which means to stop Ventolin and to substitute it with Spiriva in haler (LAMA) and high doses of Symbicort that you have already.

It is a combination approved recently by XXXXXXX 2016 (Global Initiative for Asthma)

Please discuss with your doctor for this
