Can be a lymph node swelling.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The ping pong size lump in the armpit can be due to axillary breast tissue or an enlarged lymph node. In both the cases if the lump has appeared recently then it needs a medical attention and it is not a normal finding.
For this, a FNAB (fine needle aspiration biopsy) of the swollen glands is the best test. FNAB is aspiration of the material of the glands which is done by a fine gauge needle (22 or 25 gauge) and a syringe. This will confirm the diagnosis as swollen glands are often caused by an infection, allergic reactions, cancer or metabolic diseases.
