Question : I was diagnosed with Bronchitis last week. Finished my z-pack yesterday. I have been having bilateral cheek and upper lip numbness for the past 3 days. I feel like I went to the dentist and had a nice dose of novacaine. What could be the cause? I am still coughing a lot. I was also told that I had a good amount of post nasal drip when I was examined. Thanks for you time.

May be viral neuronitis,

Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, you might be having viral neuronitis secondary to viral bronchitis. Antibiotics are given to reduce the secondary bacterial infection.
Continue treatment prescribed by your doctor. If symptoms persists, then you can be started on oral steroids and carbamazepine Tablet for 2 weeks. Discuss about this with your doctor.
