Question : I have a picture of a rash on my son's chest (almost 15). He has doctor's appointment on Saturday but I'm stressing about it. Is this ringworm. Going to upload picture

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the rash over your son's chest.

After analyzing the picture with best diligence it appears to be simple fungal infection. It is not exactly ring worm but a related infection known as Pityriasis versicolor. Though the variety of this infection is related to fungal infection but is more superficial than the ring worm.

In my patients I suggest them to maintain a good hygiene and avoid heat and humidity.

An antifungal cream is sufficient in most of the cases or sometimes an antifungal tablet might be required.

I reassure you fully that there is nothing to be worried about the same.
