Question : Recurring fever with 101 degree Fahrenheit temp to my 9 months old baby. Just two days before I sought clarification for frequent temp raise and it was successfully replied by stating that there is no significant infection to my child by going through the blood report I attached.

Now I am worried that the fever is recurring for no reason leading to discomfort to the child with sleepless nights and crying. Please advise as to what specific tests to be done before consulting a Pediatrician.

Brief Answer:
needs further tests as crp is high

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I have seen your previous query and blood test report.
The Crp ( c reactive protein) is high in the report which suggests infection.
Any infection blood or urine can cause increase in c reactive protein which is produced by the body in response to infection. The higher the value more is the infection.
I would suggest not to take fever lightly, as there could be possibilities of viral or bacterial infection in blood or urine.
You need to consult your pediatrician for a complete evaluation.
He will order blood tests to rule out malaria dengue or typhoid or urine infection. Other tests may be ordered as per clinical examination findings.
The tests can come back as normal if it is a simple viral infection.
Ensure you feed frequently and keep your child hydrated.
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
