It is permanent in majority although spontaneous resolution can occur
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I can understand your concern but unfortunately it is a chronic disease which is usually permanent.
Occasionally spontaneous resolution is seen in few individuals.
There are no confirmed effective treatment for lichen sclerosus.
Steroids are the most effective modality in the treatment of lichen sclerosus.
In persons not responding to topical steroids topical tacrolimus and pimecrolimus can be used.
Even oral drugs like ciclosporine and etretinate have beed used with some benefit in individuals.
Even cryotherapy and photodynamic therapy have been used.
You need to consult a dermatologist and consider your treatment options.
