Suggest Treatment For Respiratory Infection In My Chid

Question: Hi Doctor, My daughter is 1Year 2 Months old. At around 10pm she started coughing, later at 10.30pm she slept. Later since from 1.30am she is keep on coughing continuously. Have put kofarest drops 1ml but still she is continuously coughing. Please suggest what to to. Thanks, XXXX

Brief Answer: relax Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for your query. I understand your concern. Respiratory infections are mostly viral in nature and settles in few days Physical examination of cheat is needed to see type of cough If such patient will come to my clinic I suggest combination of dextomethorphen with chlorpjeneramine (tusq dx)for dry cough and ambroxil for wet cough 2.5 ml 3 yes a day. Also give steam inhalation . Give mixture of XXXXXXX leaves with few drops of lemon,ginger and honey in warm water. In case symptoms persist get him evaluated by pediatrician. Hope this helps.
