Posted on Tue, 28 Oct 2014
Question: My 14 month old has had a runny nose for about 3 days, started coughing only when sleeping for past 2 days and less stools today (4 of them). No fever but feels a little clammy. Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Viral cold and diarrhoea

Detailed Answer:
Hi...by what you quote this seems like a viral illness going on in the kid. If the kid is active and otherwise playful, there is nothing that needs to be worried.

Cough and cold are viral 95% of the times in children. Unless there is fast breathing and respiratory distress you need not be concerned.

Regarding diarrhea - Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.

Brief Answer:
Right now no

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Right now you need not worry. No need to see a doctor immediately. Kindly make a note of the dangers signs which I have mentioned in my last suggestion to you regarding both cough and cold and the diarrhea. If any of those red flag signs develop, you need to see a doctor.
