Now the pain has subsided after 1 week of bed rest.
She had consulted an orthopedic doctor, and taken an x-ray too.
The pain has now subsided, but she still feels scared that it may reccur and is not confident enough. .
I have attached the x-ray image, please share your diagnosis and consultancy.
Muscle spasm. Needs physiotherapy and following precautions
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Thanks for the query.
This is an Xray of the spine in the neck. Does she have pain at the back of the neck or the lower back?
There are features of straightening of the spine which us common in muscle spasm. It could signify early stages of spondylosis.
She needs to perform physiotherapy, spine extension exercises, avoid forward bending and lifting weights. TENS therapy by the Physiotherapist will help whenever she gets back pain.
Moist warm to hot fomentation of the back will help as well.
Nothing serious is seen on the Xray so she can be free of any such doubts. Just let her get regular physiotherapy and follow certain precautions as mentioned. She shall do fine.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu
