Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation

Question : My father is 93 and is having constipation for three days. He Just got over some kind of bug where he had diahrea for several days. After finally having rice water the diahrea changed and is now constipation. I have given him Epsom salts in water and some suppositories. What else should I be doing?

I have reviewed your information fully. I will suggest that you adapt his diet to help facilitate gut movement. Increase fluids intake, fiber, fruits and vegetables. Also, daily ducolax will help with this. If he’s on any other medication, kindly communicate that to me for further review and guidance.
