Brief Answer:
Hello. This could be bronchitis or gastric acid reflux

Detailed Answer:
Hello. If you're coughing up yellow or green phlegm, this could be either bronchitis or a sinus infection with post nasal drip. Otherwise, if it's a totally dry cough, it could be from gastric acid reflux.

I suggest you see your doctor to see whether you need either a course of antibiotics or a PPI/antacid medication like Priolosec

Please let me know if you need any more information

Brief Answer:
A PPI is a proton pump inhibitor

Detailed Answer:
A PPI lowers stomach acid. If this is an allergy problem, then the Loradine should help that

Brief Answer:
Smoking can cause a cough

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,

Yes, there's always what's called a smoker's cough which is a chronic bronchitis cause by smoking.
I don't think it's cancer but if the cough continues for another two weeks, were I your doctor, I'd get a chest X-ray done.
