Question : Good evening. I am having strong heart burn tonight. It's been most of the day. Not able to eat anything.

I read your query and would like to help with my advice.

Your symptoms seems typical for GERD (acid reflux) or gastritis. However, other causes of heart burn should be excluded (especially heart problems).

This is why I strongly recommend doing the following examinations to find out what is causing your symptoms:
- blood work
- ecg
- chest x-ray
- abdominal ultrasound

If the pain is self-limitingor it is relived by the treatment of acid reflux, you should wait and schedule the tests. If the pain is increasing in intensity you should go to ER to exclude any life-threatening situation.
