Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Stomach
Question: my 21 year old daughter is experiencing pain in the area of her stomach. She says she feels like she has some toxin in her stomach. The pain is in it's second day. Any ideas what might be going on?

Noted the history of your 21 year old daughter having pain in abdomen, feeling like some toxin in stomach for the last 2 days but she told you about pain just few hours ago.
Please give additional information:
- Where exactly is the pain - the location, any reference to back or so? What type of pain?
- Is there nausea, vomiting, loose stools or constipation, bloating, fever or any other symptoms?
- Any Gynaecology problems?
- Any other past/present or family history?
The pain in abdomen where the patient feels that there is toxin in the stomach, the cause can be enteritis or gastroenteritis.
I would advise her the following:
Send the sample of stool, blood and urine for tests.
Ultrasound of the whole abdomen.
If there is an evidence of an infection, she will need a course of an antibiotic.
Additional treatment as per the symptoms, signs and lab reports.
Take anti-spasmodic like buscopan or dicyclomine for pain in abdomen if the pain is severe.
Clinical evaluation and examination helps a lot.
