Suggest Treatment For Sinus And Ear Infection

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Dec 2016
Question: I went to the doctor a week ago and was told I had a sinus infection and bilateral ear infection. About two months ago I also had bronchitis which became pneumonia within 24 hours of first symptoms. When I cough now it tastes like bleach or chlorine. A chemical taste anyway. What does this mean?

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Amoxicillin can cause altered taste, nausea and GI disturbance. Allegra D can increase this sensation by causing a dry mouth , decreasing all secretions due to its anticholinergic effects. These adverse effects are most likely due to the medication and are usually temporary.

PPI like lansoprazole with pro kinetic such as itopride can be advised if symptoms are bothersome and hindering the intake of further medication.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
