Question: Hello,

I read 'Warning Signs of Mental Illness' from the following site:
http://www.psychiatry.org/mental-health/more-topics/warning-signs-of-mental-illness

And shocked, I am experiencing all of these signs currently. I can not know what I am doing and what I did. Thinking alot about movies world and not know what is running in my current situation.

Honestly saying I do not understand many of these but what I do is already applied on me. Also I do not know what questions I have to ask from you. Little understanding comes when I took 2 cups of coffee. After that my mind works a little and at that movement I try to sole what is going on but after few hours I my condition again goes down.
I am losing my work and many more things.

I really not know what I need to know.
Please help......

Problem is due to work failure from continuous 3 years and last month I lost my girlfriend after 4 years of serious relations ship.

Problem Durations:
1.) Thinking too much negative - Near about 2 to 3 years
2.) Less sleep - 2 months
3.) Change in behavior (Child Behavior) - 1 year
4.) Mind feeling heavy and lost memory power - 3 to 4 months


Nature of Symptoms :
1.) Recent social withdrawal and loss of interest in others
2.) An unusual drop in functioning, especially at work, quitting football and other games, failing in my own work, knowledge and memory lost.
3.) Problems with concentration, memory, or logical thought and speech that are hard to explain.
4.) A vague feeling of being disconnected from oneself or one’s surroundings; a sense of unreality.
5.) Unusual or exaggerated beliefs about personal powers to understand meanings or influence events; illogical or “magical” thinking typical of childhood in an adult.
6.) Fear or suspiciousness of others or a strong nervous feeling.
7.) Uncharacteristic, peculiar behavior.
8.) Dramatic sleep and appetite changes or deterioration in personal hygiene.
9.) Rapid or dramatic shifts in feelings or “mood swings.”
10.) Addiction to alcohol, tobacco, heroin or other drugs, inability to stop use of these drugs inspite of desire.
11.) Phobia from certain situation or object.
12.) Tension, inability to control anger, lack of life satisfaction.
13.) Low and depressed mood, frequent crying spells, tearfulness, increase fatigability, negative thinking, ideas of self harm.

Sometimes I lost in deep in my thoughts that I can not understand what is happening in front of me.

Sleeping is very poor. I try to sleep but woke up many times with shock or negative effects. Sometimes I get good and deep sleep. Sometimes I confused and scared.

Hello,
Thanks for follow up.

From your further information it is clear that you are having Anxiety and Depressive disorder for last 2-3 years and there is recent exacerbation of problem after breakup. Addiction in any form tend to increase these symptoms.

Following steps will help you:
-Avoid any form of addiction.
-Fix sleep and wake up time. Take 6-8 hours sleep daily.
-Start daily brisk walk in morning for 30 minutes. It provide relaxation.
-Meet nearby psychiatrist so that they can write you prescription medicines like SSRIs like paroxetine. These medicines bring significant relief within 3-6 weeks.
-Counseling from nearby therapist in form of cognitive behaviour therapy will help in anxiety-phobic symptoms and negative thinking.

Also remember that current symptoms are temporary and you will recover after treatment.

Distraction help in diverting attention from disturbing thoughts. For distraction you can start back counting (100-99-98-97) to divert attention from disturbing thought.
