Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat, Cough And Drainage

topical sprays/gargles, cough suppressants
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Most common cause would be the common cold/flu which are viral infections.
Treatment is symptomatic only, meanly they can help to decrease the symptoms but currently there are no medications that can make the cold or flu go away.
Alavert contains an antihistamine which would help with symptoms somewhat but you may also want to consider the use of : (1) topical agents such as covonia throat spray, diflam or chloroseptic spray/gargle to help with the sore throat
(2) Continue the advil as well to help with the pain
(3)decongestants would help with the nasal drainage .
Can be topical or oral.
Pseudoephedrine and phenyephrine are the oral agents and can be found combined with cough suppressants or/and antihistamines in cough syrups/tabs.
Most over the counter cough and cold meds would have a combination.
Eg are benadryl cough/cold, tylenol cold multisymptom , vicks cough and cold etc
It would be best not to use the alavert with these since most cough meds already have an antihistamine present.
These cough meds would likely also have a cough suppressant such as dextromethorphan which is the most common one used.
(4)warm compresses to the face would help with any congestion and facial pain as well
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
