Question: Hi, I have this problem 3 or 04 times times a year. my eye gets blood red & feelslike something in it. gets better in few days. Had it 2 weeks ago, had gotten better, then 2 days ago was a little red, then this morning got up & it is blood red again. I get told it is just bursted blood vessels & no problem, now everyone today is telling me I need to go to a doctor. what kind of doctor do I need to go to myeye doctor saw it 2 weeks ago, was there for a regular checkup--told me no problem, also my primary care doctor says no problem. Should I be more concerned? I am 4 days short of 73 years old & I do take blood pressure medication, but no blood thinner. Thank You!

Brief Answer:
This can be subconjunctival hemorrhage.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having recurrent red eyes probably as a result of bleeding or haemorrhage into the subconjunctival space called as subconjunctival hemorrhage.
This condition is a benign condition and it will resolve on its own and it does not requires treatment.
The common causes for this condition are injury, rubbing the eyes, systemic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, bleeding or clotting diseases....
Since your eye examination is normal no need to worry. I advice you to go for systemic evaluation by your physician doctor to rule out any of the systemic diseases as I have mentioned above.

If possible do send a photo of the affected eye so that I can confirm the diagnosis and advice you accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Thank you
With regards
