Brief Answer:
Send me thyroid levels

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXX thanks for trusting health care magic.
Thyroid disease is of two types-
Hypothyroidism - in which TSH levels are raised and it usually persists lifelong. But in certain cases who had normal levels prior to pregnancy it comes to normal in few weeks post pregnancy.
Hyperthyroidism - in which TSH levels are decreased. It usually subsides after 6-7 months or maximum by 2 years post pregnancy.
So I would like to know about the levels of TSH, T3, T4 so that I can advise you accordingly.
Both conditions are medically not very serious and can be controlled by drugs easily.
The most important thing right now is to test the thyroid status of the babies.
Take care.

Hello Dr. XXXXXXX

Thanks for the clarification!

TSH level in mother is increased and we have found increased level of TSH in Babies as well.

We have undergone TSH level test for babies on 2nd or 3rd july and for mother on 4th July.

1st we found TSH level increased in Babies so test performed on mother and found positive :(

Before this nevr ever performed TSH test on mother so not sure whether she had TSH level high before pregnency.

Now the question remains for both Babies. Does they will be having thyroid for their life long ?

For 1 baby its on border line and for 1 baby its high incresed leve of TSH.

Tahnks,

Brief Answer:
supplement with the hormone

Detailed Answer:
Levels of thyroid in mother may or may not subside and most probably she will have to take the hormone lifelong.
But as far as babies are concerned they will be fine soon but the boy with raised levels of TSH will need to be supplemented with thyroxine for at least 6 weeks.
After 6 weeks thyroid profile testing will be repeated again so that further adjustment of dose can be done.
I hope I have answered your question but in case you have any queries I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
supplements needed for 2nd baby and wife.

Detailed Answer:
Second baby and mother are hypothyroid as you must have noticed that their TSH is very high.
So meet your pediatrician and get prescription for them and take it regularly daily early morning empty stomach.
It is a painless curable disease but all you will need is compliance.
Also I will suggest you to get TPO Antibody testing of your wife.
These antibodies if positive will indicate that she might need a life long treatment for hypothyroidism.
But treatment will stay the same whether antibodies are positive or negative.
I have done a thesis research on hypothyroidism in my study life so I specialise in thyroid disorders in pregnancy, so even in future in case you have any questions feel free to approach me directly on health care magic.
Take care.
