Question : I am 69 yrs old and just discovered quite a large 'kinda hard' mass or tumor in my left breast .
I'm hesitating to go right now for a mammogram because I have just applied for additional life ins.
I need to provide continued support for my adult autistic son

What if you can is the likelihood that a tumor could be nothing to be concerned about. There is no breast cancer in my family past.

A large hard lump in breast is suspicious for cancer. So I would not recommend waiting indefinitely. This is obviously based on your self evaluation of the lump. Even if you can't get a mammogram now, at least you should consult a doctor and get it checked to see if urgent evaluation is required.
