Question : my wife has been retching and trying to vomit for over 12 hours to relieve her n ausea without success. All that comes up is a small quantity of black slime. Can you p[lease advise.

As per your query,it looks like your wife has Gastritis/Gastric ulcer.
She is having nausea and inducing vomiting.
Black coloured thing can be Bile.It is normally present in the gut which comes back with vomiting.
Please give Capsule Rabeprazole with domperidone.Add sucralfate syrup also.
Later,she has to get an Upper GI endoscopy,Ultrasound abdomen.
Avoid pain killers,spicy foods,Carbonated drinks.
It will come down.
Wish her speedy recovery
