Question : Good day
My question did not go through
I went for a sensual massage and ended in a handjob with no condom on
It lasted 15 min and female used oil.

My penis burnt afterwards for a while and I'm freaking out about herpes? Can I get Herpes from this ?

Worst case ?

Brief Answer:
Very unlikely to spread STDs this way.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Most likely you are reacting to the oil that was used.

Herpes II does not live on hands because the skin of hands have keratin which acts as a barrier. So your risk of getting genital herpes from contact with a hand is unlikely.

Hand to genital contact does not transmit STDs the way contact with mucus membranes does. And STDs do not live on hand skin for very long at all.

So I wouldn't worry about having had contact with someone's hands.

If the oil is still on your skin, wash it off. If the skin of your penis is still inflamed you can use a low dose corticosteroid cream such as is sold at drugstores. If this doesn't help, then do go in to see your doctor.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.

Thank you very much
But it's been 2 weeks and I think I'm fine
But I obviously self examine myself and think I see a blister but not sure lol

Would you think that continue to have sex with my partner is fine ? Regarding the herpes issue ?

I need to educate myself more on the std but there is a lot of mis leading information online

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
If you definitely see a blister on your genitals, then do not have oral, anal, or vaginal sex with your partner. Genital herpes can sometimes be transmitted from HSV I which usually causes cold sores. This isn't as frequent a cause of genital herpes as HSV II, but if there is any chance that you actually have a blister, I just wanted to let you know this.

Good sources of information on the internet are CDC, NIH, Mayo Clinic, Web MD, and any university patient information site.

I don't think it's a blister
I think it's my imagination due to stress.

If it was a blister surely it would of opened now?
When does they symptoms of a primary out break actually start after contact ?
It's been 15 days
I felt burning sensation but no sores etc ?

Brief Answer:
About HSV

Detailed Answer:
The incubation period for HSV is 2 - 12 days and most people get symptoms in 4-6 days. I think, beyond 2 weeks as you are, you are clear. People often report a tingling type sensation before they start to have small red bumps that then turn into blisters.

The burning sensation was more likely from irritation.

Yes, if it was going to turn into a blister, it would have evolved into that already.
