Posted on Wed, 9 Nov 2016
Question: hello, i am a 22 year old male and a few months ago i inhaled some of that air duster that's used to clean keyboards, i did this thinking that it was the same thing as whippets and i have been extremely worried that i might have done some kind of brain damage. I did not pass out and i was still conscious as it was only two times that i did it and they were both in low doses. I have been stressing about this on and off and i would like to know if i have done something permanent

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely that your brain has been damaged permanently

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us.

It is unlikely that you might have damaged your brain if you inhaled some of the air duster on 2 occasions and you have written that it was low doses both times.

If you are having anxiety about any suspected brain damage then you can get a MRI scan brain done and it will show if any problem exists in your brain which might have occurred due to the exposure to fumes. The MRI scan is very sensitive and will show any permanent damage to brain structures.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
