Brief Answer:
watch for gastrointestinal or neurological symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I can understand your concern.Dose ofAazithromycin is variable according to the condition for which it is given. It ranges from 10 to 20 mg/kg.

You have given 875 mg of Azithromycin for 42 kgs child.
I won't get worried as for respiratory infection up to 1000 mg of single dose can be given.

Common side effect of Azithromycin is vomiting, diarrhea, headache, nausea or giddiness.
Abnormal behavior or skin reaction can also occur but it is uncommon.

I won't get worried as side effect of azithromycin at this dose is not very serious.I suggest you to observe for above mentioned symptoms and consult your physician if you notice any. Symptomatic treatment helps is complete recovery in most of the cases.

If you need to give next dose, give 250 mg (5 mg/kg/dose).

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
Thanks and regards
