What Are The Symptoms Of Dyslexia?

default
Posted on Thu, 18 Dec 2014
Question: Sometimes when I'm reading, the letters are out of order. Or my eyes will go to the line below or above the right line. Or when I'm talking, I'll say the wrong word. Is this dyslexia? Something else?

Brief Answer:
Could be dyslexia, neurologic or visual problem

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.

It is true that in dyslexia people can transpose letters making it difficult to read and focus. This type of issue, as well as they eyes going to another line, can also be caused by problems with the muscles in the eyes. If you have not had one, a good eye exam by an ophthalmologist would be helpful to check on that. Anyone can say the wrong word occasionally but if this is happening regularly then it could be a problem Some neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis or traumatic brain injuries can also cause your symptoms so seeing a neurologist would be another suggestion to help sort this out. I hope you get answers soon and treatment so that you stop having these problems.
