Posted on Mon, 8 Dec 2014
Question: I am 55 male. I have complained to my doctor about urination issues; can't start right away, slow once started and seems to not really empty. Combined with this is low pressure for semen ejaculation. They seem to relate to one another. I have had a prostrate bph I believe and it was normal, even though the doctor when he did the physical said the prostrate may be enlarged. I had a colonoscopy at 50

Brief Answer:
Need an ultrasound abdomen.

Detailed Answer:
HI Sir.

I understand your query and concern.

Urination disturbances along with Ejaculatory failure can often co exist with BPH (Benign prostatic hyperplasia).

BPH once developed will not regress. Its a progressive disorder.

Its extremely important that you have a trans abdominal ultrasound to accurately determine the dimensions of your prostrate gland along with the quantification of post residual volume of urine.

Drugs like Solefenacin, Dutasteride are excellent choices in making the symptoms resolve quickly along with controlling the prostrate growth. Please discuss all about this with your doctor.

Thank you.
