Brief Answer:
It is normal to happen sometimes. There is no problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

It is normal that sometimes when the nurses try to draw blood they move slightly the needle, it goes outside the vein and the blood stop coming.
The skin bruise happens when the vein is ruptured inside, and blood spreads in the surrounding tissues. Apparently in your wife's case, there wasn't blood who would cause the bruise, so it is good.

Hope this answers your question.
Let me know if not or if you have other questions or concerns.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
