Question : I had an episode this weekend of my head spinning feeling like I was on a very fast carnival ride. I also had difficulty speaking. I knew what words I wanted to say but getting them out was slow and tedious. I also tried to stand and could not without assistance.

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible brain problem. The symptoms if persisting are suggestive of a stroke. If the symptoms have resolved completely then you may have had a transient ischaemic event.

in either case, you need to meet a neurologist for confirmation of the diagnosis and evaluation with a MRI BRAIN with DWI images.
