Question : Hi Doctor,
One of my collegues who is 37yrs old male undergone USG recently which showed Grade II Fatty liver and Horse shoe kidneys. His urine microalbumin is 26 mcg/mg and urine microalbumin is 580ug/dl and urine creatinine is 22mg/dl. Please suggest what will be his risk and what should be done in future

horseshoe kidney is a developmental abnormality . it is present by birth and over long term can cause some problem . the most common problems are urine infections, high blood pressure and kidney stones. so it is important to see the blood pressure of the patient serum creatinine levels and urine routine examination.
fatty liver is due to Excess fat production in the body it may be related to excessive alcohol intake or because of sedentary lifestyle can be taken care of by regular exercise , cutting down on fat in diet and stopping any alcohol intake if present.
URINE reports are ok. mild protein can occur.
you should repeat a spot urine protein creatinine ratio, and serum creatinine .
he should just keep an eye on blood pressure check it whenever he gets a chance.
