Question : I have discovered a small,soft lump on my right side lower abdomen near where I had a hernia surgery 3 yrs. ago. Not sure if it is related or something else.

If its near herbia surgery area, hernia recurence can be the reason. If so, tge lump should be painful and protruding when coughing.

I suggest you to have soft tissues ultrasoundm. This test will diagnose the problem.

If there is no pain lipoma is the most probable reason. Lipoma is a benign, build of fatty tissue lump. It can be removed for cosmetic rereaso.
