What Causes Abdominal Pain Along With White Specks In Stool?
Question: Hello, I have been having abdominal pain and swelling that came on suddenly for 3 months now. I have been to 7 doctors and had 9 procedures. They tell me I am a mystery. A gastro doctor gave me a pill for parasites. I took the pill and there were alot of off-white shapes in the stool. I do not know if these are parasites or not. Can you tell me what is in my stool? Thanks. A picture of my stool sample is attached.

Hello, I received the results of a stool sample today. it says no ova, cysts or parasites seen. I do not have a gastro dr appt until next Tues. I am trying to find out before then what those off-white colored shapes are in the stool. It is hard to have to wait so long. that is why i came online. to try to get an answer sooner. Thanks.

First of all I'm sorry for the late reply. Actually i was on call at hospital.
Glad to hear that your stool report came out to be normal. White specks in stool can be caused due to a number of reasons. Some of which are normal while others can be serious. Lack of bile or inability of the bile to reach to the small intestine is the most common cause of getting white stool or white specks in stool. It can be correlated by serum bilirubin level & ultrasound hepatobiliary system. Other causes include Intestinal inflammation, certain medications, hepatitis, etc are some of the other causes of white specks in stool.
IF there is no other active complaint and labs turn out to be normal then you do not need to worry.
