Question : Post pregnancy I have developed a bald patch and tremendous hair fall with dandruff and itching all over the scalp. I am afraid of loosing all my hair. Please help.

Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.

Post delivery hair fall is a common problem.
I would like to know how old is your baby now and since how many months are you experiencing hair fall.
Is the hair fall generalised ?
If possible ,please click a close up picture of the bald patch over scalp and upload it here on this page . I would like to have a look at the exact skin condition to rule out Alopecia areata .
Also please tell if you are breast feeding your baby .

I have developed one more bald patch. Some roots of my hair are having pussy boils. As per my observation my patches are increasing.

I am having hair fall all over my scalp since last 1 month apart from the bald patches.
My kid is 2 months and 18 days old. Yes, I am breast feeding her.

Hi again

I have seen the attached pictures .
You seem to have developed post pregnancy hair loss along with patches of alopecia areata .
Since you are breastfeeding your baby , I would advise you to take only minimal drugs right now .
Start with oral biotin tablets once daily.
Start application of beclomethasone lotion over the affected areas of scalp daily at night .
Follow the above treatment daily for two months atleast .
I am sure the above treatment will help you. Hair loss after delivery tends to slowly improve by itself too ,so don't worry.
