It is nothing if you are taking iron supplements.

Otherwise it indicates blood in stools. Usually black tarry stools are associated with bleeding far from anus like in the esophagus stomach or duodenum..usually it's stomach ulcer which bleeds and causes black tarry stools.

If bleeding place is healed..stools get to normal
