Question : I have a small amount of bloody mucus coming from my rectum, I had diarrhea about 12 hours ago could that be the cause?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this bloody mucus coming from the rectum. This could be related to a minor wound sustained during stools. These would normally resolve spontaneously. This is why i will recommend that you observe the stool sonly to see if this will continue or not. If t doesn't, then there is no need to be bothered. If it does, I will recommend that you get a rectal exam and probably a colonoscopy. Between, when was the last time you got a screening colonoscopy?
