Question : I had a mole removed on my right arm 3 weeks ago. the stitches are out and the site looks good. I have had multiple blood clots in my lungs and one in my neck I also had a saddle emboli. For the past 2-3 days I have had burning in my arm and my skin is very sensitive. it is my whole arm from the elbow down. It is below the incision. It is not an allergic reaction. I have not been out of the country. I barely go outside. I haven't had any new clothes or changed anything in my environment. there is no rash or obvious bumps or bruises. I take Elliquis. and I am a non insulin dependent type 2 diabetic. My sugars have been in the 200's

Thanks for consulting at Health Care Magic forum !

I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns today and will put my best efforts to get you out of this situation.

Burning sensation actually is due to abnormal nerve stimulations. Nerves that supply the skin areas are very sensitive & any manipulation may lead either to damage to the nerve or there is irritation that may cause pain, absurd feelings like burning or even sometimes patient may get loss of sensations on the skin areas.

Yes, diabetes and blood sugar levels around 200 mg/dL isn't a good sign for wound healing and itself is a risk factor for peripheral neuropathies (peripheral nerve disease that leads to loss of function and insensitivity of the nerves).

You need to consult back to your Diabetologist for medications review so that your Blood sugar levels and other markers come down to normal levels. It will aid in nerve healing process and will also help save your peripheral nerves and major organs from bad effects of diabetes.

Right now you need to take one multivitamin containing Vit. B complex after the breakfast. Take a healthy and balanced diet and remain physically active. Your issue will be resolved in the days to come. Ask your physician to check for your vitamin B12 and Vit D levels, serum calcium and magnesium levels, Thyroid profile too.

I pray for the best of your health.
