Question : I am 30 weeks pregnant and have a dramatically decreased sense of smell. On February 13 I fainted and fractured my skull. My skull did not break and there was only a slight amount of brain swelling. I guess I'm wondering if the decreased sense of smell is something I should be worried about.
Brief Answer:
Smell recovers slowly
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is common to have decreases sense of smell after skull fracture or any events leading to brain swelling.
This generally gets reversed slowly XXXXXXX 3 months once the swelling reduces. Hence dont worry about it.
Please mention this to your neurologist when you visit the doctor for follow up next time.
Let me know if you need any more help.
