What Causes Old Blood In The Baby S Brain After Skull Fracture?

My one month year old son fell off the bed, hit the floor hard and suffered a skull fracture. I was told that they found old blood also around the brain. No one can pinpoint when this bleeding occured, or if it may or may not be related to this injury. I need to know what questions to ask the Dr s? Also, they are questioning me regaridng the old blood. I have no idea how or what could have happened to cause bleeding in or around the brain. I did faint during the late stages of my pregancy, hit the tub and toliet on the way down to the floor. I was rused to emergency. Is it possible the baby was injured during that fall? What could have caused this bleeding if he was never injured? Also, can it be related to this new injury? HELP ME PLEASE!!

Hi,

If it was a difficult vaginal delivery, the bleeding could have happened then, but unlikely from your fall as baby is well cushioned inside uterus and head injury is extremely unlikely then.
