Question : Hi my gyno put me on triaxone 1g injection twice a day for four days ; im half way through but getting diarrhea is that normal. Or should i discontinue/find alrernative

Welcome and thanks for your query.
You would have had a bacterial infection for which you were started on Ceftriaxone. An antibiotic can damage the good bacteria of the gut in addition to the harmful bacteria and this can be the cause of diarrhea. Changing the antibiotic may not help. You can replenish the good bacteria by taking probiotics.

Thanks. So should i take the probiotics during my antibiotic intake or should i wait till after i am finished with the antibiotics ?
