What Causes Discomfort In Left Testis?

default
Posted on Sat, 25 Oct 2014
Question: I have a bad feeling in my left testis like friction with clothes
I had big pain before and it was epididymitis, i took antibiotic for long time and now this pain is no loger but

this bad feeling like the friction with the pant on left side is still there
when i look to my testis they both have red lines and blue lines

I am suspecting varicocele and have some questions

1- I am getting better when i run or walk, could this happen with varicocele
2- I had varicocele 2mm on left and 1.7 mm on right before and i did the tie up surgery like 6 years ago, could it come back ?
3- if it is varicocele again, is it because of the same bad veins or there are new corrupted veins
4- How can I test if the good veins valves are not weak to avoid getting varicosed
5- How can I enhance my veins valves to avoid more varicosed veins

6 - Could it be something else other than varicocele
I suspect prostate congestion or remaining effect of the epididymitis

Brief Answer:
Read detail answers bellow.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you had undergone surgery for varicocele 6 years back and now feeling discomfort in testicles.
I would answer your queries point to point as under.
1) One can not feel better on waking or standing if he has Varicocele ,In fact varicocele becomes more prominent in standing position and on walking.
2) Varicocele can develop in new veins which gets dilated due to incompetence of valves and not of the same veins which were ligated during first surgery.
3) Varicocele has developed in new veins .
4) You can get it tested by doing colour Doppler study of scrotum.
5)There is no way to avoid incompetency of non returning valves .
6) It could be due to mild infection of spermatic cord Funiculitis which can be cured by antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines like Diclofenac and wearing scrotal support.

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get ultrasound scanning and colour Doppler study of scrotum done to trace out the cause of your symptoms .
Further treatment will depend upon results of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to write if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards .

Thanks for your reply
Last time I did the ultrasound it had no varicocele at all

Let's ask few following questions
1- I will elaborate more on running, when I just stand i don not fell good but when i run or when in cold weather, my testis are lifted up and all red and blue lines completely disappear for a while and I feel perfect without any pain

Does this close the probability of varicocele or still there is some probability

2- Could the red lines in the testis be normal or always refer to diseases

3- Is the mild infection of spermatic cord Funiculitis different than the epididymitis as I just finished 5 weeks of antibiotics
4- how I can confirm if it is really mild infection of spermatic cord Funiculitis, is it by doppler or how

Many thanks for your cooperation

Brief Answer:
Detail answer bellow.

Detailed Answer:
hello
Thanks for follow up.Answers to your queries are as under

1)Testis are lifted up when exposed to cold .This is normal phenomenon and nothing to be worried about it The veins you see on surface of scrotum are prominent tributaries of superficial veins and have no significance at all and they neither suggest any disease. nor varicocele .
2)The red lines are prominent superficial veins .
3)Funiculitis is part of same infective process of Epididymitis and will get resolved after taking antibiotics for few more weeks.
4)Funiculitis can be confirmed on colour Doppler study of scrotum,
Thanks and Regards.
