Question : I have been extremely tired for the past few months. I have akin in jaw and ear that will not go away. I have no problem with teeth and roots' - all checked out and clear. I have had two courses - actually on the second course of antibiotics. No real relief of mild pain in ear and jaw. Have had several blood tests that do not indicate any problem.

Brief Answer:
Following causes to feeling extremely tire with pain in jaw and ear...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are going through.

The pain you feel in jaw and ear might be due to:

- possible ear infection or inflammation. You are saying to have already consulted with an ENT specialist who determined "no problem". However, he/she has prescribed 2 courses of antibiotics, which make me think over possible ear infection/inflammation.

Being tired might be due to possible viral infection that might have affected your ears and surrounding glands too.

- another possible cause to feeling tired might be due to:
1. anemia
2. thyroid problems
3. kidney/liver issues

You are saying to have also conducted several blood tests which resulted with "no problem". Can you please provide a copy of the tests results, so I can analyze them myself and see if you have checked all these organs for problems.

- rheumatismal issues should be also considered especially when it comes to jaw and inner ear joints. Rheumatismal tests (e.g. ERS, fibrinogen, rheumatoid factor and anti-streptolysin level) are recommended together with a complete blood count.

- an X-ray of the vertebral spine (neck area) is advised to rule out spondyloarthrosis.

For the moment, I can only advise to continue antibiotics as prescribed together with anti-inflammatory medications (e.g. ibuprofen, etc.)

Hope it was of help!

My doctor has done several blood tests including ANA, Rhematoid Factor, Cortisol Factor Vitamin B6 Free T4 Magnesium, Vitamin D Vitamin B12 TSH, CBC with Differential, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel. My TSH was high - 6.9 and she put me a a thyroid pill. Everything else is within normal range, I do not have the last third of my small bowel - destroyed accidentally in radiation when I had colon cancer in 1992. My absorption in the small bowel is very limited as I have also extensive damage and repair in the other 2/3 of that small bowel.

Because the pain is in the ear and jaw on the left side I will be see in a cardiologist on Nov 11. I had no abnormalities in the EKG. The MRI showed no tumor, the dentist found no infection. My sinus infection appears to be gone except for the mild persistent pain in the left ear and jaw area.

Let me know how to send the blood results to you or ask for specific and I can send it this way
