Question : my 8 year old grandaughter has had fevers on and off for 4 four days also complaining of fatigue and sore thoat- temp varies from 99.5 to 103.5. feels better during late day and then wakes up with a high fever - she has missed 4 days of school thi week

Brief Answer: acetaminophen and investigations Detailed Answer: Hi. I understand your concern. Fever is mostly viral in nature but could be bacterial as well. Since it is there for 4 days I suggest you to get her examined by doctor as few investigations like urine examination and complete blood count needs to be done. In the meantime give acetaminophen as per dose when fever is above 100F. Do tepid sponging if fever is above 102. Give plenty of fluids. Hope I have answered your query.
