Question : : I had very bad allergies when I was a child. I started a landscaping company 8 years ago and ever since my allergies have been much better, but springtime pollen still gives me occasional trouble. My wife and I have a 6 and a half month old baby boy and he has been a little fussy from a stuffy nose for a couple days now. He is still very active, good temperature, and does not appear to be sick to me. I told my wife's mother I think he just has allergies and a stuffy nose, but she keeps telling me a child cannot have allergies before the age of 1 years old? Am I wrong? Also he is a breastfed baby.
Brief Answer:
Chances of allergy are very less
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic..
Can understand your concerns.
Chances of allergy are very less here because during allergic episode in a baby there are red rashes on body, there might be fever and respiratory distress.
Stuffy nose is a very common finding in small babies and it occurs due to exposure to cold temperature.
I think that you should not worry about it.
I hope this will help you.
Wishing your child good health.
Take care.
