Brief Answer:
It takes 6 -8 weeks for complete recovery

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your father has undergone surgery of TURP for enlarged prostate one week back and still has increased frequency of urination.

During TURP surgeon resects the enlarged prostate ,that creates a dead space and raw area (fossa) after removal of the gland .The frequency that he has is due to irritation of the raw area .It takes 3 -4 weeks for this raw area to heal. He will have these voiding symptoms till it gets healed up completely which normally takes 6-8 weeks ..

You can expect 100 % improvement after this surgery.

Please ask him to drink more water and antibiotics to avoid infection.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
