Question: Hi, for about three months I have been having the following symptoms on and off. Please note a month before any symptoms occurred I had a laparotomy done to remove an ovarian cyst. I had a catheter in for two days with no complications. I am a 29 female very fit and healthy.
These are my symptoms which are intermittent.
Feeling of pressure and needing to wee constantly
As soon as I have finished weeing it feels like there is some left but there isn't
Sleep less nights. Sleeping pill to sleep
Once for two days everything was throbing and I felt constantly aroused.
Having bladder or urethra spasms / contractions a lot at night

When i get these symptoms i feel really run down and like i am getting sick. Sore glands body aches
I have stopped eating/ drinking any acidic foods and no improvement. have a urine test came back negative. 2 courses of antibiotics
I have had no children

Brief Answer:
residual urine infection is a possibility.

Detailed Answer:
Hello loveridge and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can fully understand your concern.

Your symptoms have started one month after the ovarian cyst surgery.
Main symptoms are frequency of urination, incomplete passing of urine,
with spasmodic pain in the local area.

You will need following measures done, for an expert opinion,on further treatment :

1. See an Urologist and get examined.
2. urine culture test report.(should be shown here, if done).
3. Blood routine,creatinine,RBS,and LFT.
4. Ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis, with residual urine.

Drink 10-12 glasses fluids daily.
After giving urine for culture test, you may start Ciprofloxacin twice daily.
Syrup Citralka twice daily, also helps in relieving the pain you have.
Tablet Flavoxate twice daily, is very helpful, if spasms or contractions are severe.

After going through the reports,i can give you an expert opinion.
Wish you good health.
