Brief Answer:
For how long have the stool been green?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Stools colors are largely determined by the content of our meals. I will suggest that you observe this again to make sure it is really green irrespective of what you take. In most cases, this resolves spontaneously and within a few days.

As for fever, I will suggest that you take your temperature each time you feel that way or at least 3times in a day. That way, I can review the reading stop tell whether something is really wrong or you are just not feeling great.

At 61, I suppose you have had your screening colonoscopies as well. If not, I strong recommend and encourage you to follow up with your gastroenterologist on that.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up and ask for more information or clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
Viruses cause diarrhea and not green stools!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

A viral infection would likely cause diarrhea and not green stools. Stool color is largely influenced by what we eat. That is why observing for a few days would allow be helpful in making the call.

Do you have abdominal cramps? Watery stools? Vomiting? These would be more suggestive of a virus.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and look forward getting updates from you on this.
