                                    Brief Answer:
NSAID drugs could help improve symptoms.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
In this case, another possibility as cause of your symptoms should be considered, such upper neck ( cervical ) degenative disease, probably cervical arthritis.
This condition may cause pain in neck and head ( especially back head ) by compression of nerves.
In my opinion, heat procedures on back of the neck, together with NSAID drugs (Ibuprofen 3x400 mg/daily eg. ) for 3 to 4 days, should improve your symptoms, if not, then you should consult your primary care Doctor and discuss your concerns, as well as to have an throat and ears evaluation as a possible cause of your symptoms too, besides arthritis.
Hope this helps. If you have further questions and clarifications, feel free to ask, if not, you can close the conversation and rate the answer.
