My periods are no longer irregular.
I bleed for 7-10 days, the first 4 days are extermly heavy, that i flood, and need to change every hour, it makes me really tired. Then i have 18days without bleeding. I have spoken to my own doctor regarding this on many of occassions, but nothing has been done.

                                    Brief Answer:
D&C is helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,thanks for the information.
I understand your concern.
As I said you in previous query there are different causes for heavy bleeding like
1)Fibroids,polyps,endometrial hyperplasia.
2)Ovarian abnormalities.
3)Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
4)Hormonal pills might also cause heavy bleeding.
So all the above causes should be ruled out by physical examination and necessary investigations.
I suggest you to get the investigations done like thyroid profile to check for any thyroid abnormalities, ultrasound to check for any endometrial and uterine abnormalities.
Dilatation and curettage (D&C) is a minor procedure which involves the scraping of endometrium and sending it for histological examination.
D&C also helps in decreasing the bleeding.
So I suggest you to consider getting done D&C and discuss regarding it with your doctor.
Nothing to worry.Once the cause is treated it will subside.
Relax.Avoid stress.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss further.
Best regards...Dr.Srilatha
