Tubal ligation has no connection with periods directly - but if prior to tubal ligation if you were on birth control pills - it causes periods to get lighter as it is due to with drawl of hormones & once you has tubes tied - naturally you will come off birth control pill & hence periods will be back to your normal body cycles . Certainly heaviness of this periods needs further tests - blood test ( Iron, FBE, hormonal tests incl Thyroid function ) & also you will need to get Ultrasonography done Hope this helps
