Question : I am a 44 year old woman whose periods have always been on the lighter side since adolescence (I had fertility issues). Just recently my period has become longer and heavier than it's been in years. In addition, I have excessive saliva, both starting around the same time. Is it possible this is due to peri menopause?
Brief Answer:
Get evaluated.
Detailed Answer:
hi there,
Welcome to HCM,
Your symptoms do suggest an hormonal imbalance. It would be advisable to do TSH Prolactin FSH and LH levels, to see if any of them are the cause of the change in pattern of menses.
Also get a pelvic ultrasound done to see the uterus and ovary for any pathology.
These would guide further management.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
